Police After
Stray Dogs
A “pick up the stray clog” cam
paign will be in effect this week
in College Station, according to an
announcement made by Ran Bos
well, City Manager.
Police officers have been in
structed to pick up all dogs found
running loose without proper tags.
City ordinance requires that dogs
have both a vaccination tag and a
city dog tag. Dogs may be licensed
at city hall without presentation
of evidence of vaccination.
“The City Council is seriously
interested in seeing that the stray
clog situation doesn’t get out of
hand,” Boswell said. “If rabies
ever gets started in an area where
lots of stray unvaccinated dogs are
on the loose, things can get mighty
dangerous, especially for chil
dren.”
Persons who allow an unvacci
nated and untagged dog to run
loose are subject to a fine up to
$50, according to city ordinance.
Persons wishing to claim impound
ed dogs should contact city hall.
