dean of the Graduate School at
A&M speak on Yugoslavia at the
regular monthly dinner meeting,
Tuesday.
Dean Page joined the staff of
the A&M in 1950 as a professor in
the Department of Agronomy. In
1955 he was promoted to head of-
the Department pf Agronomy, in
1956 was made dean of the Grad
uate School and in 1957 was made
dean of the College.
Dean Page received his BS de
gree from Brigham Young Uni
versity, his MS from the Univer
sity of Missouri and his Ph.D. de
gree from Ohio State. He is class
ified as a soils physicist.
Dean Page will speak to the sec
retaries about the country of Yug
oslavia. He spent two summers in
Yugoslavia as a Soils Specialist
for the International Cooperation
Administration and has many in
teresting things to tell and slides
to show.

Friday night’s games in the
Southwest Conference basketball
race can produce a clear-cut lead
er—or they can throw the loop in
to a three-way tie.
The big game will be at College
Station where Texas A&M, na
tionally ranked and unbeaten until
beaten by Southern Methodist
Tuesday, plays host to the Uni
versity of Texas, current confer
ence leaders.
In the only other game of the
evening Southern Methodist, with
a 2-1 loop record, will entertain
the Baylor Bears at Dallas. The
Bears have a 1-2 conference rec
ord.
Arkansas, 2-1, meets Rice, 0-2,
at Fayetteville in the only confer
ence game Saturday night. If the
Aggies and the Mustangs win their
games, the Porkers could make the
race a four-way tie by beating the
Rice Owls.
Victories by the Aggies and the
SMU Mustangs would throw them
into a three-way ties with Texas
for first place.
CHS A" Students To Participate In Houston Show
Two members of tbe A&M Con
solidated FFA Chapter have been
selected to participate in calf
scrambles during the middle of
February in Houston and San An
tonio.
They are Jimmy McAfree, who
will participate in the calf scram
ble at the 1960 Houston Fat Stock
Show on Feb. 24, and Robert Chen-
ault, who will participate in the
San Antonio Fat Stock Show on
February 12.
The boys were selected to par
ticipate in the events by area FFA
supervisor, Lester Buford.
In the Houston show, every boy
wbo catches a calf will receive a
$200 certificate. He will be ex
pected to buy a registered calf with
this certificate and enter it in the
