Stimulating
Pattie Clare, a junior at South
western University, said the whole
conference is stimulating. She said
she has learned from the confer
ence that college students are some
what complacent.
“I wish everybody had a chance
to attend SCONA,” she said “We
must try to take back to our fel
low students, the knowledge re
ceived here. Only in that way can
it be effective.”
Miss Clare said that she likes
A&M very much, pointing out that
everyone is friendly.

Nineteen distinguished “round
table” co-chairmen from the United
States and Mexico will round out
the student-sponsored Saturday
event with informative sessions

Wesleyan College in Fort Worth,
said the roundtable discussions
have been the most important.
“Most of the actual work is done
there,” she said.
‘Food for Thought’
Miss Carrol said the speakers
have been “food for thought.” She
pointed out the SCONA gives s
person basic and interesting know
ledge on world issues.
She said she was very impressed
with A&M. “The MSC is fabulous
and the entire campus has a friend
ly atmosphere.”
Dwight High, a senior from West
Texas State College, was impressed
with the organization of SCONA.
A government major, High said
“the conference has been enlight
ening, well-prepared and has pre
sented some very good ideas.”
Provides Awareness
Bob Eaton, junior speech major
at Howard Payne, said that SCONA
“is something that is needed be
cause 4>f its purpose.” He said h
helps to provide to our future lead
ers an awareness of international
problems.
“The speakers have been very
stimulating,” he said. “They have
presented basic issues, basic ques
tions and basic information on how
to get along and understand oth
ers in the world.”
Eaton said he appreciated the
privilege to attend SCONA aipi
hopes he can attend again next
year.
“These four days could be the
most important four days of my
life,” he said. “It stimulates one
to think of America’s attitude—
what is it, and what it should be.”
He was very impressed with Ag-
gieland, noting the spirit, friend
liness and helpfulness of the Ag
gies.
