State’s Offensive Formations
Baffling to Struggling Aggies
Coach Jim Myers sent his Ag
gies through their toughest work
out of the week yesterday with the
Farmers desperately trying to iron
out the wrinkles in their defensive
play.
Michigan State’s winged-T of
fense continues to baffle our boys,”
said Myers. Tuesday the head
coach had shaken his head and
termed the play “poor.”
Halfback Jon Few added a light
note to the practice, running at
full steam through the sessions.
Few missed suiting out for the
Texas Tech game with an injured
leg. He had not worked out a full
week since fall drills opened.
Tackle Joe Bob Johnson should
be the only Cadet first or second
stringer missing the trip to Michi
gan. Johnson was injured Tues
day.
Randy Sims suited out in full'
uniform yesterday, but spent the
afternoon limping around the prac
tice field trying to loosen up his
injured ankle. Sims is labeled as
“doubtful” for the State game, but
is scheduled to make the trip.
Basically the Aggies will start
the same eleven that bowed down
in defeat before the Red Raiders.
Exceptions will be Bob Phillips re
placing Jack Estes at end and
sophomore Jesse McGuire stepping
into the backfield. Joe Munson is
slated to see action as a defensive
end, moving up from his guard
position.
The Farmers will leave College
Station Friday morning by plane
for East Lansing, arrive that af
ternoon and move onto the practice
field around 4 p.m. for a short
practice session. Myers has sched
uled a light workout today on Kyle
Field.

AN HEUSEN'
FALL FASHIONS
Here’s why Van Heusen goes over big: School
men have a definite kind of taste, usually quite
fashion-conscious. Van Heusen creates styles
like “417” authentic classic fashions for the
campus man. School men are price conscious
too. That makes these furnishings doubly attrac
tive. Come, see them!
