But Eisenhower, speaking at a National Press Club luncheon, of fered “any assurance, any material move” to overcome Soviet fears of future German aggression. The President’s sharp words gave backing to an even stronger denunciation of the Soviet plan for Germany made Tuesday by Secre tary of State John Foster Dulles, who called it brutal, stupid and probably unworkable. Dulles won from the Senate For eign Relations Committee support for his insistence that the West be allowed to keep troops in Ber lin and have free access to the city. The committee Wednesday informally approved a resolution expressing its sentiments after a closed-door discussion with Dulles. In his statement for the com mittee, which was made public, Dulles said America must be pre pared to face up to perhaps gener ations of self-sacrifice and self- discipline to counter the economic and military growth of commu nism. The expressions by the U.S. for eign policy leaders added up to a reaffirmation of unity on such questions as Germany. They came as Eisenhower and Dulles prepared to talk hei-e informally this week end with Soviet Dep. Premier Anastas I. Mikoyan. Eisenhower said in his press club talk he has no intention of making any new proposals to Mi koyan because that would trans form the informal chat into a kind of negotiating conference. The President said he wants to find out from Mikoyan, No. 2 Kremlin leader, whether the So viets “are so sick of the armament burden that they want to find a way out of this dilemna.” Eisen hower added that Mikoyan should be trying to find out the same thing from him. TTI Staffers Participate In Conference The director and nine staff members of the Texas Transpor tation Institute at Texas A&M College participated in the 38th annual meeting of the Highway Research Board in Washington, D.
