Dormitory 2 wa« opened for guests in an effort to provide in expensive and convenient accom modations for Aggie* and their gue*t* over the weekend. Price for reservation* in the dormitory was $1. All the rooms in the dorm itory were filled with the excep tion of three, used for the matrftn and maid*. The $1 fee was used to pay for expenses in hiring a matron, dorm itory guard and maid* needed over the weekend. Approximately IlftO was used for these services, leav ing some J.10 which will be placed in s special housing fund. The funds will be used in the event dormitories are opened on some other occasion. To improve relations between A4M and Texas Women’s Univer sity, 17 Tessie freshmen were in vited down to be the guests of 17 Aggie freshmen who were selected from each group, battalion, the Ag gie Band. Haskew said the people of Texas have put off and compromised the question of introducing higher quality in our educations system "We in Texas must understand and face up to the challenge we face in higher education," he said The speaker said that Texas, in the last four years, has lost ground to ita principal competing states in its share of t^ie national pro duct, and listed a number of ex amples in which other state# are gradually easing ahead of Texas in certain areas.
