mas Beal Bale Nov. 14 with the
mailinff of aeals and bonds to re-
sidonta and business firms
throughout the county.
This local Christmas Seal sale
support the work of the local or
ganisation as well as its state
and national affiliates.
The sale is being handled by
several committees, within the
association and a number of local
civic clubs. Taking part in the
drive will be the Bryan Junior
Chamber of Commerce, Beta Sig
ma Phi, National Secretaries
Assn., the Negro Health Council,
the Girl Scouts and the l-atin
American Citizens Club.
Committee chairmen for the
rural communities include: Mrs J.
C Alexander, Wellborn; Mrs.
Jimmy Weedon, Harvey; Mrs. G.
B Bradley, Peach Creek; Mrs. B
I- Kisinger, Reliance; Mrs. F.
Payne, Kdge; Mrs. WHl Presnal,
Tabor; and Mrs. Maggie Kelley
and k|ts. Robert Trant. Kurten
Local women who will work
with the campaign are Mrs. A. C.
Magee, Mrs. Floyd Martin, Mrs.
Shirley Lynch and Mrs R P.

AAM has among the ranks of
its riding and roping enthusiasts
a national champion high school
calf roper He is Lynn David Tur
ner, "A" Veterinary freshman,
who says that he has been handl
ing a rope moat of his life
Turner, son of Mr and Mrs Rm-
mett L. Turner of Gatesville, was
reared on a ranch, and says that
he received most of his encourage
ment to develop his roping talent
from his older brother. Don, who

Turner says that his biggest
thnll in roping came at the
Wharton High School Rodeo in
19545 when he won his first sad
dle. Bine# that time he has won
three more saddles with his roping
skill.
At Hallettsville, Turner won a
scholarship and one of the sad
dles when he became the Texas
high school champion calf roper
for 195H He went from there to
the National High School Champ
ionship Rodeo in Sulfur. La., and
became national champion. He
competed with ropers from 20
states, roping and tying three
calves in a total time of 42 sec
onds.
He plans to go out for the
Aggie Rodeo Team if his grades
and time permit
