Ike May Consider Atomic Test Halt WASHINGTON, (^—President Eisenhower said Wednesday he ELECTION (Continued fi’om Page 1) are run-off candidates for the MSC Council post from the Class of ’GO and Class of ’61 together. Two Class of ’60 yell leaders will be selected from R. M. Biondi, Hu bert Oxford and Joe M. Leeper. Charles C. (Clint) Murphy, Don F. Boren and T. J. (Jim) Reeves ,, gained run-off spots in the race for Class of ’61 president. Donald Lee Ocker, G. A. (Tiger) Jones and J. H. Carter are vice *•' presidential run-off candidates. John H. (Johnny) Johnson, Ken neth W. Moore and A. C. (Chins) Elkins are in the run-off for Class of ’61 secretary-treasurer. Social secretary run-off candidates are Walter R. Frazier and E. P. (Ed) Winston. would seriously consider halting further atomic tests if the cur rent U. S. series yields scientific data needed to make smaller, “cleaner” bombs. Eisenhower left the impression that he might do this even if the Soviets revoke their announced ban on further Russian nuclear tests. The President spoke at a news conference one day after Secre tary of State Dulles said there is a likelihood that further U. S. tests will be needed after the present series about to begin in the Pacific. He said he would consider a halt under these conditions: “The scientists would have to tell me what they thought it nec essary to find out, and whether they had largely or almost com pletely found out the things they wanted to know. “If we do find out all the nec- cessai-y things, then I would, of course, consider such a statement of American intentions.” Intra-Clttb Meeting Tonight several College Station Kiwanians are planning to attend an intra-club meeting at Eagle Lake between the. Eagle Lake, Bry an and College Station clubs. The meeting will mark the Eagle Lake Kiwanis first anniversary. The club was formed last year on April 11, through the help of the two local clubs.
