Armor, 5th Group
Win Corps Debuts
In the first Corps baseball game
of the season yesterday, the 2nd
Battalion, 1st Regiment downed
the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Regiment,
5-2. Gary Rollins and Bob Worthy
hurled for the winners, while Walt
Hunter toed the mound for the
losers. Jerry Harris collected two
hits for the “Jocks” in the win.
In the Air Force league night
cap, the 5th Group pounded out a
5-2 victory over the 2nd Group un
der Travis Park lights. Tommy
Kolterman allowed only one hit in
going the distance to pick up the
win, while Haddon Winckler, his
battery mate, knocked in four runs
to lead the four-hit attack.

a hitting attack that found eleven
Cadets coming to the plate before
the Bearkats’ Ken McKowski could
quell the riot. This gave Beau
Bell’s Aggie nine a revenge deci
sion over Sam Houston vindicating
the 3-2 loss in Huntsville last Tues
day.
The Farmers’ record now stands
at 2-1, and the Cadets will face the
Texas Lutheran Bulldogs this aft
ernoon in Kyle Field in their fourth
