Rollie White Coliseum hard woods, 62-42. Breaking a tie for third place, the Froggies moved into a two-way tie for second slot with Texas Tech. The Raiders pummeled Rice in Lubbock and locked the Owls with A&M for third place. In Waco, SMU beat Baylor 77- 52 while Arkansas easily handled the Texas Longhorns in Fayette ville, 74-60 to share the conference crown. They will have a playoff for the honors. This will be South ern Methodist’s fourth consecutive snatching of the pennant. The Horned Frogs, who possess one of the tallest squads in the conference, completely dominated court play. They hogged the re bounds, grabbing 44 to the Aggies 26. The Cadet shooting was worse than frigid at 28.8 per cent as com pared with TCU’s 41.8 per cent. Dave Corson, 6-6 soph center from New Orleans was the only one able to break through the Frog gies’ defense, bucketing five of six field goal attempts for 10 points— the Aggie high scorer. H. E. Kirchner, 6-10 center for the Frogs, was game high scorer with 19, but four Froggie team- With Wogs, Rice; 83-68 Ags Bow In Tenth Inning As Sam Houston Wins, 3-2 With two men out in the tenth inning Sam Houston State’s Tom my Leatherw r ood banged a single off Aggie Pitcher Toby Newton and scored a runner from third base to defeat the Cadets 3-2 yes terday afternoon in Huntsville. Newton was the losing pitcher for the Farmers with Price being credited with the win for the Bear cats. The Aggies scored their runs in the seventh and eigth innings with the RBI’s being credited to Co-Captain James Smotherman and Second Baseman Dink Patter son. Bo Paradowski started on the mound fob the Cadets, giving up one run, one hit and two walks in his three inning stint.
