Tetsuo Okamoto, All-American free-styler from Brazil,
will provide the scoring punch for the Aggie swimmers this
afternoon in what might prove to be a preview of the con
ference championship meet to be held in Dallas March 13-
15. The Cadet tankers tangle with the SMU Ponies in P. L.
Downs Natatorium today at 4.

Milner put on a fine perform
ance in “esprit de corps” fashion
yesterday and won the class C
ping- pong- championship by de
feating Legett in the finals by a
one-sided score of 4-1.
Allan Leg defeated Champ Grona
' to give the winners their first win
and Ed Payne recorded their sec
ond one over Pat Cotter. Milner’s
other winners were John Dillard
and John Keith, who defeated
•George Ragsdale and Ray Rankin,
respectively.

Tommy Hicks registered the only
.win for Legett. Francis Calla

Football and basketball action is
finished and there is a lull in intra
mural action as far as major sports
are concerned.
But there is certainly no lull of
action when the wrestlers get to
gether each night. There was a
freak accident Wednesday night
when Rodney Spencer, “A” Trans
portation Corps freshman from De
Leon suffered a broken collarbone,
but it is hoped that such accidents
can be kept at a minimum.
The only other sports now un
derway are class B volleyball and
class A handball.
Forfeits have been low this
year. Athletes are urged to keep
up the fine participation.
By GARY ROLLINS
From out of the hills and the safe
ty of the confines of their own per
sonal madhouse, the Arkansas Ra
zorbacks invade G. Rollie White
Coliseum tomorrow night at 8 to
face the Texas Aggies in what
might be the showdown battle for
the conference crown.
In the first contest, held in Fay
etteville last Jan. 28, the Porkers
humiliated Bob Rogers’ cagers
with a 67-51 thumping, which had
found the Aggies sagging to a 21-
point deficit at halftime.
The Razorbacks’ scoring ace,
Fred Grim laced the bucket with
18 points and had two teammates
contributing in the double figures.
However, the crux of the scoring
came from the second unit, who
inhabited the court the entire sec
ond half.
The Aggies will be hindered in
their bid to defeat the ambitious
Hogs with the teams high-scorer,
Neil Swisher, weakened by an at
tack of influenza. The Victoria
guard, who has averaged 13.0
points per contest has been in the
sick bay since Wednesday and was
only released this morning.
How much time he will be able
to play is still undecided.
If the game is to be decided on
shooting percentages from the
field, Arkansas has a slight ad
vantage. The Porks rank seventh
in conference with a .355 percent
age, while the Cadets lag back with
.352—just .003 points in arrears.
From the free throw line, the
Farmers rank tops in figures with
a .701 percentage, while Arkansas
ranks fifth with a .650 mark.
A victory by Arkansas would
tighten their grip on first place,
and possibly cinch a tie for the
title. In other conference games,
Rice tangles with TCU in a do-or-
die battle in Houston. SMU hopes
to keep their win skein running
by bouncing Texas Tech. The Pon
ies haven’t lost a game on their
home court since 1954—some 27
games to date.
Any combination of wins or
losses could do considerable dam
age to the conference standings. If
all the home town teams emerge
victorious, the top spot will be
snarled with four teams—Rice,
Askansas, SMU and Tech—all rest
ing on the throne.
Horned Frog victory over Rice
would spell the end of the line for
now-hot-now-cold Owls. Don Su-
man’s feathered ones now hold a
season mark of 6-4.
In the overall picture, Texas
Tech maintains supremacy as the
conference’s winningest team.
Their record for the year is 14-5,
while Arkansas has garnered 14
wins against 6 losses.
And so, the spoilers of the South
west Conference begin their bids
to begin wrecking the conference
standings tomorrow night. Texas
Christian, Texas, Baylor and the
Aggies can send any one team to
the grave with one defeat.
The Fish game with the Allen
Academy Ramblers Saturday night
in White Coliseum has been can
celled because of a conflict in sche
dule that the cross-town rivals
were unable to clear up.
