Aggie Fish Outgun Kittens In Overtime Battle, 78-73 By BOB WEEKLY In a frenzied fray that couldn’t be held by the regulation 40 min utes the Fish quintet defeated the University of Houston Kittens 78- 73 in White Coliseum last night to post their second consecutive win. The overtime period saw break neck action with the Fish breaking out on top behind the excellent play of Elliot Craig who almost scored one third of the Cadets’ points. In a pressure-packed silence Don Mercer stepped to the free throw line in the fading seconds of the overtirtie period to sink two free tosses and put the game on ice for the Fish. * It was Mercer again in the sec ond half who sank a jump shot to give the Farmers a 62-60 lead and what seemed like the game, but ' hvo free throws by Jimmy Wilson i>f Houston tied up the ball game. The game was a tightly-played rontest that saw the lead change hands 14 times and the score tied 13 times. In the second half the Fish trailed the Kittens most of the period. At one time they were nine points behind the fired up Cougars, but the Farmers' tightfeh- : ed up their defense and regained their shooting eye to forge ahead of Houston. Craig paced the A&M scoring with 25 points, followed by Mercer with 16 points and Steve Van Win kle with 12.
