Over 100 candy corsages were
made, assembly line style, under
the direction of Mrs. Barlow Ir

Christmas decorations for the
home, made by various members,
were displayed on a table and
briefly explained by Mrs. Eddie
Baker.
A Christmas wreath was pre
pared to be presented to Mr. and
Mrs. Gordon Gay, in recognition
of the many courtesies extended
by the YMCA general secretary
to the club.
Members were greeted by the
club president, Mrs. Tom Taylor.
Mrs. Ran Boswell gave the invo
cation.
Coffee and trays of cookies were
offered the members by the hos
tesses—Mrs. L. E. Lai Vigne, Mrs.
Guy Franceschini, and Mrs. Theo
Holleman. The coffee was donated
by Gordon Gay.
With Mrs. W. L. Penberthy in
charge, several members decorated
the Christmas tree and the rooms
of the YMCA.
Next meeting of the club will
be held Jan. 10, with Miss Sadie
Hatfield in charge of the program.
Jack Barton, specialist on soil con
servation with the A&M Exten
sion Service, will speak on “Con
servation in Our Gardens.”

weekend to be held Feb. 8-9 at
the University of Texas and the
selection of the province conven
tion theme, “The Catholic and the
Campus Challenge.” The annual
convention will be held at the Hil
ton Hotel in San Antonio in April.

Veterinary Faculty Ladies held
their December meeting Friday
morning at the home of Mrs. A.
I. Flowers.
A report was given on the an
nual veterinary faculty dinner held
in November at the Oaks. Mrs.
P. W. Burns announced a chaltge
for the January meeting from the
first Friday of the month to the
second Friday.
Mechanical engineers must now
have 151 hours to graduate. In
’54, it was 155. The new require
ment is 140. This means with 12
hours of advanced military train
ing, the M.E. will take 152 hours
-—one more than the current figure
and three less than required four
years ago.
During the social hour refresh
ments were served by the co-hos
tesses, the Mesdames Flowers, F.
P. Jaggi Jr., R. H. Davis, and
C. H. Bridges.
Electrical Engineering Wives
Club has planned a Christmas
party for 8 p.m. Saturday at Za-
rape’s.
Those who attend are requested
to bring a small boy or girl fun
gift, valued at about 25 cents.
Meal prices are $1, $1.25 and $1.50.
Those who wish to do so may stay
after the dinner for dancing.

All students who are candidates for the
degree of Doctor of Philosophy are required
to order hoods as well as the doctor’s cap
and gown, and to leave the hoods with the
Registrar no later than 1 p. m. Tues
day, Jan. 14. The Ph.D. hoods will not be
worn in the procession since a!! such can

Candidates for the Master’s Degree will
