The Dallas News said tonight it had learned the University of Tex as has received unofficial feelers to play in the Sugar Bowl and the Gator Bowl on New Year’s Day. The Longhorn’s bowl hopes, how ever, appear to depend on the out come of their game with Texas A&M on Thanksgiving Day. Ed Olle, athletic director, said: “If we beat Texas A&M, we have a good chance o freceiving a bowl bid.” Coach Darrell Royal said: “It would be a nice reward for the boys, but we are the underdogs against A&M and we : won’t be in any bowl picture if they beat us.” It takes two to fill the bill TWO BY TWO CLASS For Aggies and Aggie Wives 9:45 Sunday Morning First Baptist Church College Station 4- By GARY ROLLINS + The rain clouds, seeking either i the bonfire or the Aggie practice tfinally found their mark at 5:37 1 yesterday afternoon. However, the showers lasted but a short time, and the Cadets were able to con- i tinue their two-hour session. They worked on offensive and defensive drills, which were high lighted by an “occasional lick.” Contributing to the affray were the co-captains Charley Krueger and John Crow,, who were especially noticeable in their efforts. Also mentioned by Coach Paul Bryant were Don Smith, junior end from Phillips and Bill Appelt, junior end from Hallettsville. Bryant anticipated the remainder of the week’s workout, which will include some ,scrimmage. The team will probably hold heavy practice sessions today and tomorrow. Friday’s practice will be the last hard workout preceding the clash with the Orange and White. Roddy Osborne was missing from practice for the second day, with illness in his immediate family. Running in his place was Charlie Mil^tcad, Tyler soph. As the ■ squad moved off the slightly-muddy field, Bryant re marked “We passed a few good licks today—not too many, but sonre.” 100 CALLING ,R.,S I.»j conventional flir.es 2'oj* Both ku'ies and gentlemen.
