¥ r The Battalion College Station (Brazos County), Texas ~ PAGE 2 Thursday, November 21, 1957 An Editorial Civilians Want Honor Code Indications come from Civilian leaders they will at tempt to contact Corps leaders in efforts to become a part of an honor code. It was learned that contacts had been made last year with Civilian leaders but this year’s leaders had not been contacted. At Civilian Student Council meeting last Thursday night, the agenda included an explanation of the proposed code to the council. So, it seems Civilian leaders are interested in the code and want to become a part of it. It-also seems from reactions that those Corps seniors who don’t care whether Civilians are included in the code are in the minority. One sure way to find out if they are is by their reactions to Civilian attempts to become a part of the code. Theron McLaren, senior class president, indicated last night he would welcome any attempts by Civilians to be come part of the code. Both groups should now strive with all their .power to get together on the honor code and formulate an ac-* ceptable plan on a school-wide basis similar to the present plan. Once again it has been that old story of misunder standing between the two groups which has caused the Corps to go ahead with their honor code without consulting the Civilians. With joint meetings, understanding can be developed and a good code for all A&M students can be formulated. What "s Cooking 7:30 Fayette-Colorado County Home town Club meets in Room 104 Academic.
