Forced Honor?
Despite strong - sentiment against the proposed Corps
Honor Code, Corps seniors seem determined to ram it down
the throats of underclassmen.
They have entirely ignored pleas that the whole stu
dent body be included in the honor system.
Instead, they plan to virtually force the proposed code
on the Corps by so-called indoctrination.
For the good of A&M, it might be well if these de
termined men stopped and considered the merits of a school
wide code planned by representatives from all classes, both
Corps and Civilian.
It has seemed to be a habit among Corps leaders to
rush into and try to force measures on the students. They
probably have what they think are the best interests of the
school at heart. But for a truly workable system of any
kind, definite long-range planning plus careful considera
tion by all parties involved is necessary.
Continued attempts to completely ignore the Civilian
student body are beginning to become obnoxious to some
on the campus.
Corps leaders must plan to include the Civilian students
in the Honor Code and in any other systems proposed
in the future. They are going to be around for a lot longer
than some would expect.
It is probably well to bring out again that with adoption
of the proposed Corps Honor Code, Civilian students would
indirectly be submitted to questions of honor because they
are not part of the system. t t ^ . 4-CorpS Honor Code
Opponents must take immediate action to stop the m- 1
doctrination by Corps leaders and call for a referendum
vote.
In any planning for A&M’s future, the whole student
body has got to be consulted for there are some who would
fight to the last for the rights of all Aggies, Corps and
Civilian.

Letters to the Editor
Editor:
The Battalion
We girls here at Sam Houston
State Teachers College want to
express our feelings toward the
school we think so grand. We are
behind that Fightin’ Texas Aggie
team all the way.
Rice Stadium wasn’t the only
place tears were shed last Satur
day afternoon. There were many
shed by the girls watching the
game on television. Even though
we were not fortunate enough to
attend the game, we felt that we
were still a part of that wonder
ful 12th Man.
The dorm in which we girls live
has posters throughout it sup-
porting the Aggies and we wish
them all the luck in the world on
Turkey Day. We feel sure that
the Fightin’ Texas Aggies will
come through with flying colors.
We will all be supporting that
wonderful group of men, because
we love and cherish the wonder
ful Spirit of Aggieland and all
it represents.
A group of loyal Aggie
fans from SHSTC
