Of Car Inspection
A change in motor vehicle in
spection regulations, which Will
oust the requirement of having to
remove a wheel in order to inspect
the brakes, was announced this
week by Homer Garrison, Jr., Bi
rector of the Texas Bepartment of
Public Safety.
An earlier regulation required
the inspector to remove the wheel
and determine the amount of wear
on the brake lining. But inspection
stations found it difficult to make
these checks, since there was no
accurate way of determining the
original thickness of the lining.
