mond Tigers at 8 p.m. on Tiger

Mart by a 26-7 score and Consoli
dated to Rockdale by 13-2.

SWC HIGHLIGHTS V-J
The Southwest Conference stays
: on the intersectional trail this
week with prospects of a much
lesser showing than marked the
season’s start.
Four of the members will be
battling teams from other areas
as Southern Methodist, brighteyed
over its upset of California, tack
les Georgia Tech at Atlanta in
the feature.
Texas Christian, a trifle embar
rassed with its 13-13 tie with low
ly Kansas, goes to Columbus to
play untested Ohio State.
Texas, praised to the skies for
whipping Georgia 26-7 and thus
equaling last season in its very
first game, hosts Tulane’s Green
Wave expected to win.
Arkansas, not impressive in a
Carlos Esquivel
Carlos, 180-pound junior halfback from Edinburg will be
filling- in the vacancy left by John Crow as the Aggies
continue their siege of Texas Tech in Lubbock Saturday
night.
12-0 victory over Oklahoma State
but having a speed reducing muddy
field as an alibi, gets Tulsa at
Fayetteville. The Razor back
coaches are trying to build up
Tulsa as a Goliath but the Hurri
cane looks like a blow-out Gulf
squall.
Southern Methodist and Texas
Christian won’t be asked to win
in view of the hefty competition
they’re meeting but Texas and
Arkansas ought to make, it with
out undue trouble.
While the Methodists, Long
horns, Razorbacks and Horned
Frogs do what they can to add
luster to the conference nationally,
two other members—big tough
Texas A&M and Baylor—will be
meeting home folks.
