Attended by municipal policemen from cities throughout the state the school is conducted by the police training program of the Engineer ing Extension Service, A&M Sys tem. It offers training in the latest crime-fighting techniques and law enforcement practices. A number of distinguished Texas peace officers and specialists are guest instructors at the school, Wallace D. Beasley, police training coordinator for the Engineering Extension Service said. SIHCE 1 935 Copyright T.S.O. 1957 Airlines Rule To Eliminate Empty Seats Continental Air Lines and Trans-Texas Airways, serv ing the College Station-Bryan area, will rule Sunday to eliminate “sold out” flights taking off with empty seats. The ruling, the third of a three- stage program, is aimed at persons who make reservations, change travel plans, fail to cancel reser vations and do not show up at flight time. The passenger will be penalized $3 when he presents his ticket for refund or uses it for reservation on another flight, officials indicate. Air travel card holders will find the penalty added to the bill. Under the first two rules, the passenger is required to pick up his ticket by a specific time and re confirm his reservation after an overnight stop of more than 12 hours. Teacher Education Course Is Offered Over KBTX-TV KBTX-TV in Bryan will carry the “Adventures in Education” televised teacher education course beginning at 8:30 a. m. Saturday, Sept. 28 continuing for 2G con secutive weeks, Dr. Grady P. Park er, head of the Education and Psychology Department said this week. The half hour series of programs will offer college graduates with bachelor’s degrees or graduating college seniors an opportunity to become eligible for a permit to teach in any Texas school. Dr. Parker said. Those with bachelor’s degrees will receive permits to teach dur ing the present term and may be renewed for three additional years. Graduating seniors, upon receiving their degrees will receive a three- year permit to teach in Texas schools. Those in the College Station-Bry an area interested in the program may see Dr. Parker before Sept. 28 in the Education and Psychology Department.
