Etito Jiimor
Wins $100
David A. Claghorn, junior
entomology student, was
awarded a $100 scholarship as
the outstanding junior major
ing in entomology Tuesday
night by Dean of Agriculture J. C.
Miller.
Selection for the award was
made on the junior’s scholarship,
attitude, ability, personality, extra
curricular activities, financial needs
and a 500-word theme on “Why I
Selected Entomology for a Ca
reer?”, according to J. C. Gaines,
head of the Entomology Depart
ment.
The scholarship was made avail
able by the Texas Pest Control
Operators.
On presenting the award Dean
Miller said, “We are living in an
age where we must work with peo
ple,” and there grades and person
ality come into play especially
when a job interviewer is on the
campus. “This was not true sev
eral years ago, but it is now.” He
credited this to the fast, modern
world in which we are now living.
“It is a world where ability to

sity, he added.
