Industrial Education Wives made
plans at their meeting Monday
night for a social to be held at
7:30 p. m. Friday in the Memorial
Student Center.
The social will honor wives of
Student Wives Club Organized
In Oceanography, Meteorology
Forty wives of oceanography and
meterology undergraduate, grad
uate and Air Force students met
Friday to organize a student wives
club. The meeting was held at
the home of Mrs. D. F. Leipper,
whose husband heads the depart
ment.
After a welcome by Mrs. Leipper,
Mrs. Nina Johnson took charge of
the meeting. Mrs. R. B. Kamm,
sponsor of the Aggie Wives Coun
cil, and Mrs. Nancy Langford, a
representative of the body, invited
the new group to become a partici
pating member of the council.
Mrs. Langford gave a brief his
tory of the council, explained some
of its activities and told of the
advantages to be gained from
membership in it. The club elected
to join the council.
A nominating committee of
Marjorie Snyder, Barbara Creager,
Jill Erickson and Mary Carter was
appointed. Members of the con
stitution committee are Pat Van
Hulla, Jerri Sutherland, Pat Smith
and Marian Proctor.
Coffee and cookies were served
by faculty and staff wives from
the department.
Next meeting, scheduled for 8
p. m. Tuesday, March 5, will be a
get-acquainted party. Hostesses
will be Lou Coulter, Jill Erickson,
LaVonne Jacobs and Helen Dengler.
