scorer for the losers was Thomas
Payne with eight points.
“A” Comp, downed “A” TC 38-
25 as three of their men hit double
figures. Norman Floeck and Ben
Carroll tied with 13 points while
Manual Garcia added 12, but Pat
Loveland of the losers walked off
with high scoring honors as he
hit for 14 points.
“A” Ord. was victorious in the
other quarter-final as they de
feated Sqd. 5 by a score of 40-23.
Scoring honors for the winners
went to three men as Charles
Bailey, Robert Province and Larry
Clark had 8 points each. But again
the losers had the high point man
as Dick Damon meshed 13.
In class “A” football Sqd. 21 ran
over Sqd. 11 by a score of 26-6.
Clyde Stinson led the victors as he
ran the opening kick-off the length
of the field for one TD and passed
to Tommy Keith and Paul Carroll
for two more. Woody Baker scored
their other TD on an intercepted
pass and long run to paydirt. Sqd.
11 scored bn a pass from George
Lodoen to James Pitts.
Sqd. 12 squeezed by Sqd. 22 by
a score of 7-6. Sqd. 22 scored on a
40 yard pass from John Johnson to
Jim Porter. Sqd. 22 scored on an
intercepted pass and runback by
Joe Ward and then Nelson Sprague
added his game winning extra
point.
Sqd. 10 downed Sqd. 19 by a
score of 20-0. It was Sqd. TO all
the way as they scored on three
passes. Lester Mays led the victors
as he threw 2 TD passes to Leonard
Clark and Bill Ewing. The other

The Southwest Conference’s tallest team meets the
shortest as TCU battles the Aggies tonight in White Col
iseum.
The Fish meet the Wogs at 6 p.m. in the opener with
the varsities exchanging points starting at 8.
The huge Frogs, sporting a 6-4.7 average, try an Aggie
five that barely reaches 6-2.7, but has proved they can be
double-tough on their home court.
TCU brings 6-10 H. E. Kirchner, 6-7 Dick O’Neal and
*6-5 Ronny Stevenson to battle the boards with 6-4 George
Mehaffey, 6-2 Fritzie Connally and 6-1 Neil Swisher. O’Neal
is the league’s third highest scorer, with 357 points in 19
games.
A&M took it on the chin,
63-46 at the hands of the Ar
kansas Razorbacks Saturday
night in Fayetteville while the
Fish were getting cleaned,
77-54, by the Houston Kittens in
Houston.
Mehaffey was held to two points,
his season low, as A&M wasn’t in
the game after 10 minutes of play.
For the Fish, Wayne Lawrence
scored only 21 points, dropping his
average to 26 per game.
Ken Hutto, who is finally com
ing ipto his own after starting
very slowly, led the Aggie scorers
against the • Hogs with 16 points.
The Froggies after being tied,
43-43, with 10 minutes to go, ran
away from A&M and won a 77-58
affair in Ft. Worth two weeks ago.
TCU is 10-9 on the season and find
themselves only one notch above
the cellar-dwelling Cadets in con
ference play with a 2-5 record. A
victory by A&M would leave both
with a 2-6 mark and tied for the
bottom.
