John Anderson
A delightful review of his soon-
to-be-published work, “A Texas
Surgeon in the C.S.A,” was pre
sented by Dr. John Q. Anderson
of the A&M English faculty at
last week’s meeting of the A&M
Women’s Social Club.
A moment of silent prayer was
observed in tribute to two former
members who have passed away
since the last meeting: Mrs. W.
L. Porter, who was active in the
club for over 20 years, and Mrs. I.
W. Hupei, a 10-year member.
The Feb. 22 meeting of the club
will be a game party featuring
bridge, canasta, forty-two, and
crazy bridge. All women of Col
lege Station and Bryan are invited.
Ladies of the Engineering Draw
ing Department were hostesses for
the afternoon. Mrs. W. E. Street
and her committee had prepared a
beautiful tea table centered with an
arrangement of orchid mums and
pink carnations. Mi's. C. W. Craw
ford and Mrs. John C. Calhoun Jr.
served coffee and Cake to members
and guests.
