Expect Tough
Fight on Kyle
By DON BISETT
Assistant Sports Editor
It’s time again for the “Twelfth
Man” to show his wares and today
is the day. The fourth annual
Twelfth Man Bowl will open up
and pass before our eyes on the
turf of Kyle Field as the Army
and Air Force each battle for a
win.
A grim Don Watson, Coach of
the Army legions is expecting a
real battle and has said, “We only
know that we are going to play
them as good a ball game as we
know how to do.”
Watson, a pei-fectionist at heart,
is not at all satisfied with the re
sult he has achieved with his team.
This is not big fault nor that of
his team, but the fault of time.
If he, or Coach Dee Powell of the
Air Force for that matter, could
have had a few more weeks to pre
pare they would each feel better.
Watson said that he was far
from displeased and that, “If we
do win I think that the line will
play a big part of that victory.”
Of the team as a whole he said
that they were in as good condition
as humanly possible in the short
time they have Worked.
Captaining the Army team will
be Glendall Rand, senior Quarter-
^back and Tony Gonzales starting
right tackle.
Coach Dee Powell of the Air
Force has the same gripe that is
prevalent in the Army Camp, that
of no time to prepare as he would
have liked to do. Of the game he
says that, “We will have the de
sire and the spirit and will be put
ting out all the time we are out
there.”
“I think the game will be won
on breaks and desire of the boys
out there playing the game,” says
