    Don McGinty Head
Of College Unions
Don McGinty was elected presi
dent of Region Nine of the As
sociation of College Unions at its
meeting in Kingsville recently.
McGinty and nine other members
of the Memorial Student Center
Council and Directorate attended
the meeting where they participat
ed in panels, workshops, and at
tended lectures on student union
activities.
The nine other members who at
tended the meeting are Richard
Wall, Carl Pehnke, Roy Davis,
John West, John Windham, Dave
Brothers, Charlie Haas, Dudley
Brown and Shirley Cannon.
Region nine includes Texas,
Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Louisi
ana.
Saddle, Sirloin
To Elect Officers
The Saddle and Sirloin Club
elects officers tonight at 7:30 in
the Lecture Room of the Animal
Industries Building, according to
Bob Johnston, retiring president.
Names submitted for offices by
the nominating committee are Mel
vin Lebo and Stanley Keese, presi
dent, John Kiker and Wayne Yea
ger, vice president, Ted Montgom
ery, secretary. Buddy Chesser and
Benton Cassidy, treasurer and Jou
les Jourde and Jim Begmund, re
porter.
The Club also will elect an Ani
mal Husbandry faculty member
as their nomination to the Agricul
tural Council for Outstanding Pro
fessor in the School of Agriculture.
Other retiring officers are Mel
vin Lebo, vice president; Cecil
Skaggs, secretary; Pat Garner,
treasurer and Jim Renick, reporter.

High School Choir
Entertains Lions
The A&M Consolidated High
School choir provided entertain
ment for the weekly luncheon of
the College Station Lions Club
yesterday. Directed by Robert
Boone, the group sang four Christ
mas selections.
Mrs. A. B. Medlen, pianist for
the club, was presented with a
silver goblet in recognition of her
service to the club.
President L. C. Grumbles an
nounced that the club’s next
•regular meeting would be on Mon
day, Jan. 7, 1957.

Cushing Library will observe the
following holiday sohedule:

Morgan Resigns

President Morgan came to A&M
as Dean of the College in 1952
from Colorado A&M where he was
Dean of the College and Dean of
the Graduate School. He became
president of A&M in September,
1953.
Staying at the Colorado school
six and a half years, Dr. Morgan
rose from head of the department
of education and psychology and
director of summer school to the
deanships.
He received his bachelor’s degree
in mathematics at the University
of California in 1933 and took his
doctor’s degree ih education admin
istration from the same school in
1938.
He is an elder at the Presbyter
ian Church here and is affiliated
with many scientific societies. He
also has been a regular contribu
tor to leading professional jour
nals in the fields of psychology
and college administration.
Dr. and Mrs. Morgan have two
daughters, Ann, 21, a senior at the
University of Texas and Dale, 15,
Bryan High School student.
City Hall Open House
The College Station City Hall
will hold open house tomorrow for
all College Station residents, City
Manager Ran Boswell said. Fruit
cake and coffee will be served
from 2 to 5 p. m.

CHS Class of ’46 To Hold Reunion
The A&M Consolidated High
School senior class of 1946 will
hold the first class reunion in the
school’s history this Christmas, ac
cording to Bob Hunt, Tyler, gen
eral arrangements committee chair
man.
“The class will hold the reunion
in the school cafeteria at 5:15
Christmas Day,” Hunt said. “All
members of the class of ’46 have
been invited with local ex-students
providing for accommodations in
College Station.”
