AP’s Wilks Picks
Aggies Over Owls
By ED WILKS
NEW YORK—(IP)—The wife, while feeding the baby,
tabbed a pin into a list of last weekend’s 45 games and
‘picked” 31 winners. The guy next door, begrudgingly dis
carding his rake, picked 34 teams that came through. _ _
We, meanwhile, thumbed brochures scanned injured
lists studied records and flipped coins to blow 17 losers, 1»,
counting Adlai for a .622 mark. For a slugging percentage,
or a national voting edge, that would be ^ite adequate.
But for football forecasting, well, even a chaiitable view
makes it scandalously poor. So, with a keener msig as
how Terry Brennan feels, here we go again: _
Iowa 9, Ohio State 6—What’s the bigger incentive—an

or an unprecedented third
straight Big Ten title? We’re
stuck with the Roses.
