Men. Skunk in 2 Hour Bailie By DAVID IMcLAIN Battalion Staff Writer Four men engaged in chemical warfare for almost two hours yes terday under heavy streams of enemy fire. The streams hit no one, luckily, for the enemy was a skunk. The black and white assailant was discovered creeping' in the storeroom of the joint lab of Drs. Hans Lau and Erma van der Zant in the Animal Husbandry Pavil ion. (Photo No. 1) Lau joined forces with A. L. Scales, Edwin Cooper and Tollie Williams and led a charge forcing the foe to retreat to the shelter of a deep freeze. (Photo No. 2) Even though he was outnumbei*- ed, the adversary forced the at tackers to retreat when he dis charged two rounds from his heavy artillery. Advancing to the rear, the scenty soldier found refuge in some old mailboxes in the storeroom. He was delivered to the hunters spe cial delivery when he climbed into box 154G. (Photo No. 3) With the enemy cornered,, the attackers started their chemical attack. After- weakening the de fense with chloroform, they closed in for the kill with carbon disul fide and emerged the victor. (Photo No. 4, left to right; Scales, Lau, Williams and Cooper.
