STUFFED PEPPERS AND CARROTS
4 medium green pe-ppers 1 cup cooked xnce
1 medium onion diced 1 T. Worcestershire sauce
2 T. fat t. salt
N lb. ground beef 4 carrots
1 egg, beaten % cup water
Cut stem end of peppers. Remove seeds and wash thoroughly.
Parboil in water 5 minutes. In deep skillet or Dutch oven, over me
dium fire, cook chopped pepper (particles of the stem end or insides
cut up) and onion in the 2 tablespoons of fat. Add, mixing thoroughly
ground beef, egg, rice, Worcestershire sauce, and salt. Stuff peppers
with mixture, pocking firmly and place rfround outer edge of skillet.
In center of skillet place carrots, peeled and quartex*ed and % cup water.
Cover, bring to boil over full fire, reduce to simmer and continue cook
ing 30 minutaa. Serves 4.

Place in shallow baking pan and

Vi t. salt
Drain new potatoe*. Combine egg, milk, salt and pepper. Roll
cooked potatoes in «gg mixture then in bread crumbs. Arrange in
shallow baking pan and pour butter or max-garine over all. Bake in
moderate oven (350 degrees) 30 minutes. Serves 4.
CHERRY CRISP
t. almond extract V& cup brown sugar
1—No. 2 can sour cherries V& t. nufmeg
% cup sugar Vs t. cinnamon
1 cup pie crust mix
Pour almond extract and drained sour cherries into 8-inch pie
pan. Sppinkje with sugar. Spread mixture of prepared pie crust mix,
sugar, natfnqg, pnd cinnamon. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) 20
to 25 minutes. Serves
BARBECUED
2 lb; fryer
melted butter or margarine
Coat fryer with melted butter 1 ,
add barbeicue sauce. Bake, uneovered f in moderate oven (350 degrees)
1 hour or until tender. Serve* 4-
BA&BECUE SAUCE .
1 t. salt I medium onion, chopped
H t. peppw % cup catsup
1 T. paprika $4 cup bator
1 T. sugar 1/3 cup lemon juice or vinegar
Vi t. garlic salt 1 T. Worcestershire sauce
Blend salt, pepper, paprika, and Pugar, • Add gax-lic salt, onions,
catsup, water, l^mon juice or vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring
to bojl'over full 1 flame and pour over chicken.

lls cups ginger snap crumbs Vi cup butter or mai-garinc,
Vi cup sugar !' wielted
Blend ginger snap crumb*, melted butter or max-garine, and sugar
thoroughly. Pat onto bottom and aides of 9-inch pie pan. Gill in
refrigerator at least 20 minute# then add CRANBERRY ICE CREAM
PIE.
CRANBERRY ICE CREAM PIE
1 quaxrt vunilla ice craam 1 lb. can whole cx-anbex-ry
pauce, chilled
Place icq cream in ginger snap erumb crust. Top with chilled
cranberry #aue#. Place in frearing compartment or refrigerator until
firm.
