Guest Editor this week is Mary Dannenburg formerly of
Bristol, Tenn. She and her husband, Warren, a graduate bio
chemistry major, have two children—Warren Jr. is five and Mary
Alice, three.
QUICK COFFEE CAKE WITH CRUMB TOPPING
IV2 cups sifted flour 1 egg
% cup sugar % cup milk
2 t. baking powder 3 T. melted shortening
V2 t. salt
Sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together. Beat egg and
add milk and shortening. Stir liquids into dry ingredients, mixing only
enough to dampen all the flour. Pour into greased pan, sprinkle with
cnjmb topping (recipe below) and bake in hot oven (425 degrees) 25
minutes. Makes one 9x9 inch coffee cake. Serve while hot.
CRUMB TOPPING
2 T. butter (melted) %eup dry bi*ead crumbs
2 T. sugar % t. cinnamon
% cup sifted flour
Mix to consistency of coarse crumbs and sprinkle over cake batter
before baking.
RINKTUM DITTY
1 small onion, chopped fine % t. pepper
1 T. butter 2 t. sugar
2 cups cooked tomatoes V2 lb. cheese, grated
1 t. salt 1 egg, beaten
Cooked onion in butter until tender. Add tomatoes, salt, pepper,
and sugar and heat. Add cheese and cook until melted, stirring con
stantly. Add egg, stirring constantly, and cook one minute longer.
Serve on buttered toast. Serves 4.

The Senior Ring Committee rules that
the preliminary grades for the Spring
Semester 1956 be considered as the final
grade in determining a student’s eligibility
to order the A. and M. ring. Such students
may now leave their names with the ring
clerk in the Registrar’s office. Their rec
ords will be checked and eligibility for the
ring will be determined by April 12th,
1956.
Orders for the ring will be taken between
April 12th and June 1st for July 10th
delivery. The Ring Clerk is on duty from
8:00 A.M. to 12 noon Tuesdays through
Saturdays each week. Rings must be paid
for in full when placing the order. Rings
may be called for in person or will be
mailed to the student at an additional
charge of twenty-five cents. This must be
paid at the time the order is placed.

Dr. John (Dixie) Southern will
address the A. & M. Methodist Men
Wednesday evening at 6:30 in the
Fellowship Hall of A. & M. Metho
dist Church in College Station.
Dr. Southern speaks on “Hu
manity’s Millions—Our Opportu
nity,” according to Dr. John Kin-
cannon, president of Methodist
Men, and Rev. Nolan R. Vance,
pastor of the A. & M. Mathodist
Church. The talk will deal with the
people and problems of South Asia,
particularly India and Pakistan.
Dr. Southern was in Pakistan
in 1953 in charge of the village
development program for Point IV
technical assistance, U. S. Foreign
Operations Administration. He al
so traveled extensively in India ob
serving that nations’ village de
velopment pragram and land re
form measures.
An unusual banquet menu is
being prepared by the Ruth Circle
of the Women’s Society for Chris
tian Service which has charge of
the dinner.
