Ray Lindley will be guest speakers Sunday at the form al dedication service of the new A&M Christian Church, stated the Rev. Clarence Ketch, minister. Crow is executive secretary of the Texas Board of Christian Churches and Dr. Lindley is vice president of Texas Christian Uni versity. The church has recently com pleted a sanctuary and office fa cilities designed by Ben H. Evans, who is a local member of the con gregation and on the staff of A&M. “The present units have been completed at an approximate cost of $45,000,” said Rev. Ketch, “which friends and churches over the state have contributed to help rebuild the church that was de stroyed by fire last March.” Long range plans call for per manent educational facilities to re place the inadequate temporary ones that the congregation now uses. They also include a fellow ship hall which will serve also as a student center. The buildings completed are year-around air conditioned and the sanctuary is partially furnish ed. Folding chairs instead of per manent seating are used to allow the building to be used for pur poses other than worship. 18 Scholarships Available at A&M A total of $8,300 in scholarships is available for the 1956-57 school year at A&M College, it has been announced by the Faculty Scholarship Committee. To his trained eyes, each light and shadow means something, and this under standing has given new health and new life to countless persons. But to most of us, this X-Ray is undecipherable. To understand its message, we would have to take a new kind of reading lesson; we would have to spend long hours at study. Like the X-Ray, many of life’s questions seem at first glance unanswerable. Indeed, some are beyond man’s understanding. But in Church, we can be taught a new way of reading that makes mysteries far greater than that of this X-Ray seem suddenly, miraculously clear. If you are interested in the meaning of life for yourself and your children, then profit by the teachings of the Church that have stood the test of centuries for millions of people. i-d - iMi ' i # . r r , j . - • - y ' g THE CHUBCH FOR ALL . . . ALL FOR THE CHURCH The Church is the greatest fac tor on earth for the building of character and good citizenship. It is a storehouse of spiritual values. Without a strong Church, neither democracy nor civilization can survive. There are four sound reasons why every person should attend services regularly and sup port the Church. They are: (1) For his own sake. (2) For his children's sake. (3) For the sake of his community and nation. (4) For the sake of the Church itself, which needs his moral and ma terial support. Plan to go to church regularly and read your Bible daily. Day Book Chapter Verses Sunday..Psalms 97 1-12 Monday.... John Tuesds 4 31-42 Tuesday.... John 6 60-71 Wednesday.
