Border Olympics, first big outdoor
track meet of 1956.

weights; Bobby Carter, Fritzie
Connally .and Joe Schiraldi in the
high jump; James Clark, James
Jackson and Winton Thomas in
the pole vault; Dale Elmore in the

the javelin.

Little Doug Mullins hurled four and two-thirds innings
of no-hit relief yesterday as unbeaten A&M downed the stub
born Sam Houston State Bearkats, 4-1, on Kyle Field.
Mullins, 5-8 righthander, came onto the scene in the top
of the fifth inning with the Aggies holding a slim 2-1 lead,
the bases loaded and only one out. He retired the side on four
pitches and went on to face but 15 batters in taking credit
for his first win of the season.
