[Wednesday, January 4, 1956 THE BATTALION Pagre 3 Varsity, Fish To Host Baylor Gagers Tonight By Battalion Sports Staff A&M jumps into the Southwest Conference cage race tonight as it pla ys host to.Baylor’s frisky Bears in White Coliseum at 8 p.m. The Aggie Fish take on Baylor’s Gubs in the night’s opener at 6:30 p.m. KORA’s Mike Mistovich will broadcast a play-by-play descrip tion of the game. Currently resting in the fifth spot among SWC teams in season standings, the Aggies come into to night’s battle with a record of two wins and seven losses. Baylor has a 3-8 season mark, and stands fourth among conference teams. The Cadet’s starting quint will be made up of Bill Brophy, 6-3, Fritzie Connally, 6-3, Roger Har vey, 5-11, Ken Hutto, 6-0, and George Mehaffey, 6-4. Hutto broke into the starting lineup during the pre-season tour nament at Houston last weekend and led Aggie marksmen with a to tal of 51 points in three games— an average of 17 points per game. He’s a sophomore from Amarillo. “Hutto is playing good ball,” re marked Coach Ken Loeffler,” and I’m very pleased with his progress so far.” A&M’s finish in the Houston tourney was disappointing, but only emphasizes what Loeffler said be fore the season started that “we can’t win without the big guy.” KEN HUTTO paced Aggie basketball scorers in the South west Conference Totirn’ey in Houston Dec. 28-30 averaging 17 points in three games.
