Letters
(Continued from Page 2)
he graduated in the clasp of ’50, so
I had a friend from that moment
on. His name was Doug Woodard,
working with some oil firm I be
lieve. We had a great time swat
ting at those little golf balls with
our “misery sticks.”
Wherever I go I always wear my
Aggie ring and wear it proudly, for
as far as I’m concerned, it’s still
and always will be THE school.
r Ii,ell all of my buddies that are still
there “howdy” for me. I really
enjoy reading “The Texas Aggie.”
Sincerely yours,
Thomas E. Cox ’55
Editor, Battalion:
I have read several lettei's in the
Battalion insinuating that Aggies
are not gentlemen. I, of course,
disagree because I have a brother
who is a junior at A&M. I thought
that you might be interested in this
paragraph. It was turned in by a
freshman at TSCW from New Jer
sey when she was asked to write
her idea of an ideal husband for
an expository paragraph in Eng
lish.
“An ideal husband for me would
be what is a typical senior Aggie.
A typical senior Aggie exemplifies
many fine personal charactenstics
and traits. Primary among them
are courtesy, kindness and respect
for others. Aggies are true gentle
men in every way. They cater to
a woman’s slightest whim. Always
they assist in helping me put on my
coat, in opening doors, and in mak
ing me comfortable in every way
at the meal table. Friendliness and
facile conversational ability are
keynotes of most Aggies’ person
alities. An Aggie’s intei-ests are
manifold, and he puts one at ease
immediately with his charming
manner. My experience with men
has led me to believe that an ideal
husband would be a typical senior
Aggie.”
Yours truly,
A member of TSCW
Class of ’59
Editor, Battalion:
Last Friday’s Batt had an excel
lent photo of the power plant cool
ing tower under repair. Your cap
tion described it as a water puri
fier, something a cooling tower is
neither designed to do nor does.
AAAUUUGH!
Yours truly,
W. R. Garrett, ’51
(Ed. Note: We apologize for
our mistake. It was not, how
ever, our fault. Where we come
from germs are frozen to death.)
In the Groove for
Christmas.
