Wesleyites Have Meeting
In Palestine Saturday
A joint Spiritual Life Retreat
between the Wesley Foundations
of TSCW, Baylor, SHSTC, and
A&M will be held Saturday and
Sunday. Site of the Retreat will
be the Lakeview Methodist As
sembly Grounds at Palestine, Tex
as.
The Rev. Mr. Bob Breihan, di
rector of the Texas Methodist Stu
dent Movement, will be the dis
cussion leader for this event. A
student from each school has been
appointed as discussion leader for
one of the groups.
The program will feature discus
sion, recreation, worship, singing,
and fellowship.
Cars will leave the Wesley Foun
dation in the morning and after
noon Saturday, and will return
Sunday in time for chow here
Approximately thirty Methodist
students from A&M are expected
to attend this retreat. Anyone in
terested will be welcome and is
urged to contact Bob Monk at the
Wesley Foundation.

Yveline, our Guest Editor for the week, and Charles Bretsch
neider have been residents of College Station for five years, orig
inally hailing from Michigan. Mrs. Bretschneider, a graduate of
the University of Texas with a major in French and Spanish, is
publicity chairman of the American Association of University
Women in College Station. Mr. Bretschneider is a graduate stu
dent of Oceanography. The couple, with their two children, reside
at 1204 Ashburn, College Station.
BAKED CHICKEN
Always use a large fryer or broiler, uncut. Rub a little lemon
juice, then salt and pepper in body cavity. Add rosemary or a large
handful of fresh parsley, then about a half stick of butter. Rub out
side of chicken well with oil. Place in shallow pan in 450 degree oven.
Baste often and when nicely browned reduce heat. Cooks in less than
an hour.
EGGPLANT-LAMB CASSEROLE
1 onion chopped % cup stewed tomatoes
1 can mushrooms 2 T. chopped parsley
3 cups chopped cooked lamb 1 medium eggplant
1 cup broth Swiss cheese
Saute onion in butter or oil until golden. Add mushrooms and
diced lamb to brown slightly. (One lb. shoulder of lamb, first cooked
slowly in water, and seasonings may be used.) Add tomatoes, stewed
or fresh, peeled tomatoes can be used, parsley and broth. Let simmer
together a few minutes. Peel and slice eggplant. Fry on both sides
in olive oil and drain on paper. Line a baking dish with the slices of
eggplant and spread the lamb mixtxure on top. Sprinkle generously
with grated Swiss cheese. Bake in moderate oven about 1 hour.
APPLE DESSERT
6-8 cooking apples 1/3 cup margarine
i cup bread crumbs 2/3 cup brown sugar
Prepare apples as for apple pie. Place in deep baking dish. Mix
crumbs (made from bread dry enough to grate), margarine and brown
sugar together, then press firmly on top of apples. Bake in moderate
oven about 30 minutes.

were winners in the Council Bowl
ing League Tuesday night.
M.E. defeated Dames Club while
Business Wives won over Bridge
Club by forfeit.
High individual series went to
Mona Monicle of Geology while
Nancy McCarty of Geology took
high individual game.
Geology Club took high game
and high series for the evening.
The last series of games will be
bowled Tuesday, Dec. 18 in the
Memorial Student Center
A meeting of the trophy and bowl
ing committee will meet next Wed
nesday to decide on presentation of
trophies, and whether the trophies
will be presented Dec. 13 follow
ing the games or at another time.
The round robin tourney will be
gin again in January with a new
series. Clubs wishing to partici
pate in the Spring tournament may
contact Ann Perryman, chairman
of bowling, at 4-1254 or Joy Jones,
secretary of the Wives Council, at
6-1042.
The only charge for bowling is
$1.00 for the alley, bowling ball
and regulation shoes. This fee in
cludes three games for the even
ing.
Teams are composed of five girls
representing a club. Anyone wish
ing to bowl whose club doesn’t
have enough for a bowling team,
may contact one of the above men
tioned girls to be scheduled in with
another club.
