DENNIS GOEHRING, A&M’s sturdy right guard, was the “line man of the day,” according to Coach Paul Bryant. Other stand outs in the Aggie line were Charles Krueger and Jim Stanley, both sophomores. Bobby Conrad, who had a busy afternoon playing quarterback, halfback and end, was also outstanding. Baylor fullback Reuben Saage, who remarked before the game that “A&M would be just another scrimmage,” was the Bears’ lead ing ground gainer with 20 yards. Halfback Weldon Holley, fourth in SWC rushing before Saturday, dropped to 10th place this week after getting only three yards in three tries. A&M STUNNED the Bears with a TD only 3:30 after the opening kick-off. Bobby Drake Keith pounced on a Baylor fumble on the Bear’s 18, and five plays later quarterback Donnie Grant rode Hale’s back into the end zone. Tay lor’s extra point kick split the up rights. Baylor came right back after the ensuing kick-off to march 69 yards for their lone score. Reuben Saage tallied from 1 yard out, and the successful conversion knotted the score at 7-7.
