B Field Cracks
Swim Mark
In Intramurals
“B” field artillery bettered
a 16-year-old freshmen intra
mural 300-yard medley swim
ming record with a sparkling
1:01.2 last night in P. L.
Downs Natatorium as 100 teams
battled for 20 places in the finals.
The old recoi'd, 1:01.7, was set in
1939 by “E” field artillery.
300 swimmers competed in Wed
nesday’s quarterfinals. Ten teams
in both upperclassmen and fresh
men divisions won berths in the
finals, to be held next Wednesday
night.
Squadron 17 turned in the best
upperclassmen time with a 1:01.0
The record in this division is 0:58.2 ;
set in 1950 by “A” Athletics.
Upperclassmen finalists: squad
ron 17, “A” chemical, “B” infantry,
Leggett Hall, squadron 10, “B"
engineers, Walton Hall, “A” ord
nance, “C” armor and Maroon
Band.
Freshmen finalists: “B” field ar
tillery, “C” antiaircraft artillery,

squadron 8, “B” armor, Maroon

Ag Pistol Team
Wins Dallas Meet
A&M’s Pistol Team opened the
1955 season wtih a win over the
Dallas Naval Air Reserve last Sun
day morning in Dallas.
High point men for the Aggies
were Ken Snipes, Frank Norvell,
Joe Martinez, Neil Cameron, Don
Hawley and Winfield Massie.
Membership on the team is still
open. Anyone interested should
contact Colonel Phillips in the Mil
itary Science Building.,
TCU Game

The letter also invited all A&M
students and their dates to a coffee
at 10:30 a.m. in the Student Center
on the TCU campus.
