WHEREAS, the City Zoning
Commission after preliminary con
sideration and public hearing has
recommended the rezoning of cer
tain areas of land hereinafter fully
described, now therefore
It is hereby ordered that a pub
lic hearing shall be held in the
City Hall at 8:00 p.m. on Aug. 15,

Sealed proposals addressed to the Hon
orable Mayor and City Council of College
Station, Texas will be received at the office
of Ran Boswell, City Manager, until 7:00
P.M. o’clock on August 12, 1955 for fur
nishing all necessary materials, equipment,
superintendence and labor required for the
construction of a complete sanitary sewer
system and a sewage treating plant with
a sewage pumping station.
Bidders must submit with their bids a
Cashier’s or Certified Check for five (5%)
per cent of the amount of the bid sub
mitted, payable without recourse to he
City of College Station, Texas, or a Pro
posal Bond in the same amount, from a
reliable Surety Company, as a guarantee
tht Bidder will enter into a contract and
execute bond and guaranty forms provided
within five (5) days after notice of award
of contract to him. Bids without check or
proposal bond will not be considered.
The successful Bidder must furnish bond
in the amount of IOO9J, of the contract
price from an approved Surety Company
holding a permit from the State of Texas
to act as Surety and acceptable according
to the latest list of companies holding cer
tificates of authority from the Secreary of
the Treasury of the United States, or other
Surety or Sureties acceptable to the Owner.
All unit prices must be stated in both
script and figures. The Owner reserves the
right to reject any or all bids and to waive
formalities. In case of ambiguity or lack
of clearness in stating the price in the
bids, the Owner reserves the right to con
sider the most advantageous construction
thereof, or to reject the bid. Unreasonable
or unbalanced unit prices will be consid
ered sufficient cause for rejection of any
bid or bids.
Bidders are expected to inspect the site
of the work and to inform themselvs re
garding local conditions and conditions un
der which the work is to be done. Atten
tion is called to the provisions of the Acts
of the 43rd Legislature of the State of
Texas and subsequent amendments con
cerning the wage scale and payment of
prevailing wages established by the Owner.
Said scale of prevailing wages is set forth
in the specifications.
The work to be done is divided into the
following two (2) subdivisions and a bid
der may bid on one or both of the separate
projects:
1. Complete sanitary sewer system
2. Sewage treating plant and sewage
pumping station.
Instructions to Bidders, Proposal Forms,
Specifications and Plans and other Con
tract Documents may be examined at the
office of the City Secretary, City Hall,
College Station. Texas, and may be ob
tained at the office of Homer A. Hunter
Associates, Consulting Engineers, 3708
Abrams Road, Dallas, Texas upon the de
posit of Fifty (S50.00) Dollars, which sum
so deposited will be refunded provided:
(1) . All documents are returned in good
condition and are received in the office
of the Engineer not later than seventy-two
(72) hours prior to the time for receiving
bids, or
(2) . If he Contractor submits a bid and
returns all documents in good condition to
the Engineer not later than five (5) days
after the time that bids are received.
If he Bidder does not comply with either
of the above two (2) options then only
Twenty-five (525.00) Dollars of the deposit
will be refunded when the documents, plans
and specifications are received.

week, College View leads the way
in intramural softball with a 2-9
record. They beat Puryear 13 to 3
Monday night, and came back to
take an 8 to 2 win over Leggett
Tuesday.
Bizzell shut out Leggett 3 to 0
Monday night, giving them a 1-0
record—the same as Law,, which
beat Entomology lab Tuesday
night. Puryear and Entomology
lab had 0-1 records, while Leggett
had a 0-2 mark.
The schedule coming up is as fol
lows :
Tonight—7:15, Puryear vs Law;
9:00, Leggett vs Entomology lab.
Monday—7:15, Bizzell vs College
View; 9:00, Leggett vs Law.
Tuesday—7:15, College View vs
Entomology lab; 9:00, Puryear vs
Bizzell.

Teams may use a maximum of
two men who want to play but are
not affiliated with any group hav
ing a team. These two men, how
ever, may play for only one team.

be turned in at the Student Activi
ties Office in Goodwin Hall by 5
p.m. tomorrow. The golf can also
be registered for at the college
golf course.
Teague Edits Book
On Summer Camp
Foster S. Teague, senior stu
dent at A&M, is editor of “Bars
to Be,” a yearbook published at
the ROTC summer camp at Fort
Knox, Ky.
The 56-page book, which will
come off the presses two to three
weeks after the end of the six-
weeks training period, will con
tain mostly pictures and cartoons
to remind the ROTC students of
their first six weeks in the Army.
The title of the book was se
lected from nearly 100 entries.
The winning suggestion was
made by a student from Okla
homa A&M.
Formosa has about the same
area as the Netherlands.
