The Civilian Student Council, in its first year, has acted on what it has thought bene ficial for civilians and for the college. But apathy on the part of the students would be an insurmountable barrier. The civilian weekend -starts Friday night with a barbecue. The council has gone out on a limb, feeling that the students wanted more activities and would support these ac tivities. Now, with just a few days left the coun cil has been told, “I’m afraid we’re falling short.” About a $250 loss is coming up if the stu dents don’t support this barbecue. Only 600 tickets have been sold, and the council, be cause of an ordering deadline, has already made arrangements for 900 persons. Unless civilian students show real inter est in doing their part, they are in danger of losing not only this money, but an irretriev able amount of prestige.
