BAYLOR TRIO—These three young ladies are the Debs
Trio of Baylor university, and they will be here for the
Intercollegiate Talent show Friday night. The show, which
will feature 16 acts from 14 colleges, plus the Melody
Maids of Beaumont, will be at 8 p.m. Friday in White col
iseum.
Business Wives Club Plans
Western Dance Saturday
The Business Wives club will
sponsor a dance at 8:30 p.m. Sat
urday at Maggie Parker’s dining
room in Bryan.
Mrs. Margaret Jones, club presi
dent, said the dance is for any
one interested in coming. Pro
ceeds will be donated to the re
cently organized colored nursery,
she said.
The dance will have a western
theme and a floor show will be
staged by the members of the
club. The show will have a can
can line and will be based on the
“gay nineties”, Mrs. Jones said.
Tickets for the dance are $1.25
per couple and will be sold at the
door.

AAUW Hears
Talk On Infants
At Meeting
Vick Ehlers, guest speaker at
the Monday evening meeting of
the Bryan-College Station Ameri
can Association of University Wo
men, gave a brief outline of the
emotional experiences of infants
and then led AAUW members in
a discussion of the factors that
promote emotional stability in
school age children.
Ehlers, who was introduced by
Mrs. J. H. Son-els, is the present
director of the Brazos County
Youth Development committee. He
is a senior counselor for the Texas
State Department of Public Health
and has been appointed to this
area for three years.
During another part of the pro
gram, Mrs. Sol Klein reported on
the mental health survey conduc
ted in Brazos county last year by
members of the Social Studies
group of AAUW.
Hostesses during the refresh
ment period which preceded the
meeting were members of the So
cial Studies committee with Mrs.
M. C. Futrell acting as chairman.
Her assistants were Miss Caroline
Wereman, Mrs. S. H. Hopkins,
Mrs. E. C. Stutts, Mrs. Isaac Pet
ers and Miss Sue Albright.

March 18 there will be a buffet
dinner in the dining room from
5:30 to 8 p.m. for the Inter-colle
giate Talent show activities.
A buffet dinner will also be
served March 26 in the hallx-oom
for Military day events.
A smorgasbord will be served
from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. May 7 for
open house and the Aggie follies.
May 8 will be Parent’s day and
a buffet dinner will be served in
the ballroom from 11:30 a.ni. to
2 p.m.

Planned for Employees
The A&M Employes Dinner club
will be “wearing the green” in hon
or of St.. Patrick Thursday night
in the Memorial Student Center
ballroom, according to A. F. Isbell,
chairman of the Dinner club com
mittee.
The Capers Combo will play for
a dance after the dinner at 7:30
p.m. Isbell said patrons were be
ing encouraged to wear green, but
dress may be formal, semi-formal
or informal.

CHICKENPOX was the leading
disease in the College Station-Bry-
an area last week with 37 cases re-
poi’ted, according to the Bryan-
Brazos County Health unit. Influ
enza was second with 34 cases.

the motor transportation supeivi-
sor will be held here Max-ch 21-25.

Birth Announced

Mi’, and Mrs. Don L. Barksdale
have announced the bix-th of their
first child. Woody Thornas Bax-ks-
dale.
Woody was born in St. Joseph’s
hospital at 10:51 a. in. Max-ch 9,
and weighed nine pounds, seven-
and-one-foux-th ounces at bix-th.
Barksdale also said that his new
son is 22 inches in length.
The Bax-ksdale’s ax-e from San
Antonio and now x-eside at B-ll-Z
in College View. Bax-ksdale is a
senior petroleum and mechanical
engineering major.
