The Aggie and his friends liked Mrs. Byrd’s brownie recipe so well that they asked me to print it.) 2 eggs 1 cup sugar % cup flour 2 tablespoons cocoa BROWNIES ^4 stick of butter (oleo) 1 teaspoon baking powders 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 cup nuts Social Whirl Easier Styles To Be Seen Melt oleo, add sugar and stir until Tnixed well. Mix flour, cocoa and baking powders together. Beat the two mixtures together. Add eggs unbeaten one at a time. Add vanilla and then the nuts. Grease and flour pan then place mixture in pan. Bake for 45 minutes at 375 degrees in the oven. ICE BOX COOKIES 1 pound of brown sugar Vz pound oleo .2 eggs 1 teaspoon cinnamon Melt butter then add sugar. 1 teaspoon baking powder 3V6 cups of flour 1 cup nuts 1 teaspoon vanilla Add dry ingredients alternately with the eggs. Add vanilla and nuts, lastly. Roll in any shape roll and place in the ice box overnight. Cut and bake when desired. 1 pound oleo 1 pound flour 1 pound sugar 4 eggs 1 pound of mixed fruits Dates FRUIT CAKE Lemon peel Orange peel Cherries Pineapple Citron Figs You may use any candied fruit that you desire but the amount must not exceed one pound. Melt butter, add sugar. Take part of the flour and flour nuts then part of the flour to flour the fruits. Add eggs then extract. These cakes may either be steamed or baked in an oven. Stephen F. Austin High To Present Senior Play The senior class of Stephen F. Austin high school in Bryan will present “The Curious Savage,” Saturday at 8 p.m. in the high school auditorium. The play’s setting is in The Cloisters, a mental institution, and revolves around the main charac ter Mrs. Savage, played by Miss Pat Wilcox, who has been placed in the institution by her children.
