While working with these churches in filling pulpits, vacation Bible schools and youth camps, he also took part-time jobs in Alaska to pay his expenses. The purpose of his lectin es to the Hearne church is to bring to the attention of the congregation, the need for mission work in Alas ka, not only religious, but also ed ucational and medical. Bumpass said, ‘The first two lec tures were used primarily to ac quaint the people with the condi tions and customs of Alaska. I felt that an understanding of the country and its people were neces sary before a satisfactory study of the mission field would be pos sible.” After graduation in May, Bum- pass plans to enter Southwestern seminary in Ft. WITH HUMBLE UNIFLO Humble Esso Extra gasoline for '55 will give you the best anti-knock performance you’ve ever had. But motor oil can also cause knock. Some oils form combustion chamber deposits that raise compression ratios even higher, increase a high compression engine’s tendency to knock. These deposits also cause pre-ignition ping. Humble Vniflo motor oil does not form knock-causing deposits. Thus, in effect it raises the anti-knock performance of your gasoline. Uniflo also saves gasoline, lengthens battery life, gives you superior lubrication and cooling. You use the same grade the whole year around. When you use both Esso Ex tra gasoline and Uniflo motor oil, you’re using the best perform ance combination ever. 1 Now, more Texans than ever before prefer fsso Extra to any other premium gasoline. HUMBLE The entirely new gasoline with the highest performance rating ever offered Texas motorists. When your car knocks, you’re losing power, burning too much gasoline, dirtying your engine. Knock-even ping—is more than a noisy inconvenience—it’s expensive, too. But you can stop knock with Humble’s Esso Extra for ’55. This entirely new gasoline has the highest octane rating (anti knock quality) offered Texas motorists. It’s an absolute must for the new high compression 1955 engines. And it assures the improved performance of any car, any make, any model. Get the Esso Extra habit! . • . Your car will give you performance you never dreamed it had! ’CoY." is a r«*i&tOT.d trs
