He figures for the future
It’$ James KirchhofT’s job to look
ahead. As a Plant Engineer with
Illinois Bell Telephone Company, he
he-lps estimate telephone equipment
needs years in advance.
_ For example . . . when a new r real
Estate development is in the planning
stage, Jim figures how much tele
phone equipment it will need when
it reaches its full growth. His esti
mate is. based on his knowledge of
the equipment’s potential plus fore
casts provided him of the area’s rata
of development. He then makes a
complete report that becomes the
basis of plans for the future.
Jim can take a look at his ow r n
future, too. In telephone engineering
he can see a great many opportunities
opening up in the next five years . ..
ten years. He can pick the one he
wants and start working toward it.
Jim graduated from Northwestern University
as an E.E., class of 1952. His progress since
then is typical of college men who have chosen
telephone careers. If you'd he interested in a
similar opportunity, see your Placement Of
ficer for full details. There are also openings
with other Bell telephone companies, w ith Bell
Telephone laboratories, or Western Electric
and the Sandia Corporation.

Ther« is so much to teach him, and You have
chosen me to be his teacher. You have placed
a soul in my clumsy hands, and I am humble
before your gift.
How well I realize that in my wonderful task
I need the help of the greatest Teacher . . . Your
help. My constant prayer will be for guidance
... so that I may teach my son what is right . . .
so that I may set his tiny feet in the right direc
tion on the path of life, and guide his dear
little mind into the right channels.
And when the time come*, my son will go
to Church’ , . . because the Church is Your
home on earth, and there in Your presence all
that I have tried to show him will have true
meaning to him, and he will believe.

THE CHURCH FOR ALL . . .
ALL FOR THE CHURCH
Th* Church i* the greatest lac
ier on earth lor th* building ot
character and good citizenship. It
is a storehouse of spiritual values.
Without a strong Church, neither
democracy nor civilization can
survive. There are four sound
^reasons why every person should
attend services regularly and sup
port th* Church. They are: (1)
For his own sake. (2) For his
children's sake. (3) For the sake
of his community and nation. *(4)
For the sake of the Church itself,
which needs his moral and ma
terial support. Plan to go to
church regularly and read your
Bible daily.
