5?age 4 THE BATTALION Tuesday, November X90I Church Briefs Students Guests of Brotherhood A group of Aggie Baptist stu dents representing the Baptist Stu dent Union will be the guests of the men’s brotherhood of the First Baptist church in Bryan tonight at 6:30. The students will give a program to the group after a meal prepar ed for them by the brotherhood. Those presenting the program will be Frank Pollard, BSU pres ident; Cliff Harris, BSU director; Bill Thomas and Hardy Rudd. James Whisenhant will speak and show slides of the proposed BSU missions project in Alaska for the summer of ’55. Dave Mitchell and the BSU quar tet will be “ a feature extra,” Har ris said. •—o— The Bethel Lutheran church will hold a Pastoral conference Mon day. Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. the Sun day school teachers, group B, will meet. The Lutheran Aggie Wal- ther club will meet in room 3B in the Memorial Student Center at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The subject for the evening will be on “The Church and Social Problems”. Holy communion will be cele brated Wednesday evening at 7:45 at the vesper service. The Rev. Wm. C. Peterson asked that mem bers wishing to register do so by card or personally at the office Wednesday. The topic for vesper service will be “A Believer’s Con fidence”. Game Party Held By Jewish Women The Jewish Women’s club of College Station and Bryan met at the home of Mrs. Edward Olian on Nov. 4 for its annual game party. Prizes were awarded to the win ners of the various card games. Winners were as follows: Mrs. Fred Konig, bridge; Mrs. Sol Klein, scrabble; Mrs. Joe Kessler, canasta; and Mrs. Edward Abbott, gin rum my. Mrs. Bumie Robbins was co-hos tess of the meeting. Longshore will lead prayer meeting. Tonight the men of the First Baptist church are having a sup per. A tape recording of a ser mon that Billy Graham gave will be heard at the supper. Wednesday at 7 p.m. will be choir practice and the Fellowship program.
