During his eight-year span there his teams won 54, lost 27 and tied two. He won two Arkansas Intercolle giate titles in ’51-’52. A graduate of Danvilley Ark., high, Smith, 46, was a four-year, four sport letterman at Hendrix College, Conway, Ark., graduating in 1931. He served his alma mater as as sistant until 1936 when he -went to Centenary. Served in the navy and discharged a lieutenant com mander. He served at Athens, Ga., Jacksonville and Elizabeth City, N.J. TOM TIPPS, a graduate of Sull Ross college, has one of the out standing high school coaching rec ords in Texas. Prior to joining the Aggie staff in the spring of 1954, Tipps, 38, was head coach at Pampa for sev en years. He won 56, lost 50 and tied one in the ‘‘little Southwest conference” AAAA prep league. Tipps coached at Seagraves and Temple high schools before World War II, then after 3% years in the infantry served at Denton be fore going to Pampa in 1947. Karibo is 22 years old. He will work on his master’s degree here in addition to his football duties. Ticket Deadline For Geveland Series Today By The ASSOCIATED PRESS Today is the deadline for mailing World Series ticket requests to the Cleveland In dians but the New York G i ants haven’t named a “stop” date yet. The Indians, a cinch for the American League flag, and the Giants, pace-setting club in the National League, are the only two contending clubs accepting World Series orders. The other leading teams have ordered the tickets printed but are not accept ing orders.
