The seven were Roland Beasley, Penny Laverty, Janice Latimer, Helen Holmes, Maurice Olian, Don Avera, and Jerry Mills. Each played in singles and doubles, and most of them. played in mixed doubles. No team scores were kept, with individual ratings only counting. Roland Beasley won in the quar terfinals from Don Mazzu of Beau mont, 5-7, 6-4, 6-3, losing in the semi finals to Bob Staton of Vann, 1-6, 2-6. Penny Laverty lost in the quar ter-finals to Carolyn Kay Hinson, Lufkin finalist, 6-3, 6-3.
