The spring election for the Stu
dent Council of A&M Consolidated
was decided at the last meeting.
The election will be held in the
second week of May.
Other dates passed at the meet
ing were May 1 for the freshman
masquerade party in the cafeteria,
May 4 will be the Mother and
Daughter banquet for the Future
Homemakers of America, and Ap
ril 26 and 27 set for the junior
plays.
Last Thursday, 75 seventh grade
students visited the capital and
the governor made a speech to the
students, welcoming them to watch
the legislature in session.

Official Notice
Ring orders are being taken for those
students who become eligible for the ring
with their preliminary grades for the Spring
Semester. The Ring clerk is on duty
Tuesday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m.
until 12 noon.
Delivery of these rings will be made
August first.
Rings will be delivered in person to the
individual or they will be mailed to the
owner at an additional charge of twenty-
five cents. No rings will be mailed to
summer camp addresses. All rings must
be paid for in full (including mailing
charge) when the order is placed.

Girl Scout Banquet Is Set
For Sbisa Hall, 6:30 Tonight
The Girl Scout Banquet will be
held at Sbisa hall at 6:30 p.m.
Thursday.
This is the annual celebration of
Juilette Lowe’s birthday, the foun
der of Girl Scouting.
The theme of the banquet will be
“Know Your Nation, Know Your
Neighbor.”
Mrs. Piei-re Schlumberger from
Houston and also a native of
France will be the guest speaker.
Mrs. Schlumberger made a trip
overseas with a Scout troop from
Houston two years ago and will
show a film of this trip at the
banquet.
Bob Cherry of the Agricultural
Economics department and a mem
ber of the Girl Scout council will
be the emcee.

Polio Vaccinations
Not Set for Brazos
Brazos county was not one of the
counties selected to receive the new
vaccine against polio, said Dr. E.
S. Frieman, director of the Brazos
county health unit.
The vaccine is only in the ex
perimental stage now and it pro
bably be at least a year before any
definite results will be known, he
said.
Experiments are being made in
nine cities and counties in Texas
that have had severe outbreaks.

The meeting of the Child Study
club was held in the home of Mrs.
Charles La Motte Tuesday.
A short business meeting was
held and refreshments were served
by the co-hostess Mrs. James Liv-
erman, who was in charge of the
party for the children at the meet
ing.
Rev. Norman Anderson answer
ed questions by the members of
the club on child training.
