Elected by the faculty and stu dents, he will be honored at the Rotary club luncheon today. An all star athlete, he has let tered in football, basketball and baseball. He was chosen a member of the all-state football team. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Conner, 514 Cooner St., Col lege Station. Pinkney is a senior. George Litton will play the title role in the junior play “Wildcat Willie Gets Girl Trouble” set for April 15 at the high school. the play will be one of two one-act plays to be presented by the juniors. Other cast George members are Patsy Nolan as Gladys, Willie’s sister; Anna Beaty as Willie’s mo ther; Roy Courim and Delbert Stanley as Joe and Vernon, Wil lie’s friends; Eugenia Rush as Local Art To Go To Texas Western Members of the art gallery com mittee of the Memorial Student Center will send 21 watercolor- ings, oils, drawings and caseins to Texas Western College, El Paso, on an exhange exibition on April 1. This is the first exchange of its type to be done by the committee with Texas Western. Students included in the com mittee are Tommy Williams, Bob Wilson, Ray Arhelger, Ronald Cannonj Ronnie Greathouse, Shartier Newton, Grant Reader, Lewis Hampton, Bill McMahon, Robert Sullins and Gary Bourgeios. We hope to start an exchange with the Southwest conference schools, said Mrs. Ralph Terry, advisor and instrutor of the art gallery of the MSC. Training Program Scheduled Here The Hearne district of vocational agriculture teachers and their stu dents will attend a training pro gram here Saturday. The program will include meat judging, poultry and egg judging, and diary products judging. Upon arrival, each group of high school students will go to a sched uled meeting place. The vocational agriculture teachers will attend a general assembly for a separate program. They will receive about the same training as their students O. D. Butler of the animal hus bandry department will conduct poultry and egg judging. Dr. A V. Moore of the dairy husbandry department will conduct the dairy products judging. Angel, the brat next door; Billy Mixon as Cary, her brother; Helen Ross as Allison, the cute visitor; and Henry Phillips as Dale, Cary’s friend. Other class members will assist in staging, lighting and prompting for the play. The student council will sponsor a cake sale at Orrs Minimax be ginning at 10 a. m. Saturday. Council members are baking for the sale. The money will be used to raise money for the high school sign to be built by the council. Plans have been made for the student council assembly program, “The Greatest Show on Earth— Tiger Tickles.” Master of ceremonies is Melvin Free. The program will be an audience par ticipation show. The commer cials will be given by Nor man F 1 o e c k, Rita Hughes, Jay Page and Jean Adams. Larry Leighton and John Har rington will have the posters for the program. Melvin The Future Homemakers of America will have an election meet ing at 2 p. m. Thursday at the home economics room. The incoming president will be the chapter’s delegate to the state FHA convention in Ft. Worth April 22-24. Plans will also be made for the area meeting to be held in Waco next week. At that time Anna Beaty will be installed as an area officer. Coke Party Honors High School Grads A Coke party will be given at the David Morgan home to honor daughters of the faculty who are graduating in June. * The seniors’ mother and 85 to 100 friends are invited. The party will be at 3:30 p. m. Thursday. The girls to be honored from the A&M Consolidated High school are: Sandra Couch, Carolyn Landiss, Marion Gaddis and Pen ny Laverty. The honorees from Stephen F. Austin High school in Bryan are Betsy Coon, Carole Lynch, Rose mary Lenert, Kay Parnell and Jean Penberthy. Civic Music Group Begins Member Drive The membership campaign of the Bryan - College civic music assocation will begin April 5. Board members, officers and workers met Monday even ing in the city hall as the first meeting of preparatory week, dur ing which the local assocation plans its membership campaign week. Mrs. Kirby Wharton, national representative of the Civic Con cert service who organized the as sociation here last year, is back again this year. Those present at the meeting were Mrs. Wharton, Frank Coulter, president of the local association; Doris Coulter, Mrs. Arthur Mel- loh, Mrs. Eugene Bullard, Mrs. Jesse Coon, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Langford, Carl Best, Mrs. Harry Rankin, William Pena, Mrs. Pat Newton, Mrs. Tom Wortham, A. V. Moore and Mrs. Beth Brush. At the meeting Mrs. Wharton mentioned the favorable comment sent to the national headquarters in Chicago by the local members con cerning the successful concert series which ended last month. Broadway Musical Set for Town Hall The Broadway musical, “Annie Get Your Gun,” featuring Lynne Torres and an all star Broadway cast with music by Irvin Berlin will be presented by Town Hall May 3 and 4. The musical features such hit tunes as “There’s No Business Like Show Business,” “Doin’ What Comes Naturally” and “ They Say It’s Wonderful.” Three shows will be held, two May 3 at 7 p. m. and 9:30 p. m. and one May 4 at 7 p. m. Admis sion will be $2.00 or by season ticket. This will be the last Town Hall show of the year. BOW BELLS TO RETURN LONDON—(A 5 )—The war blitzed church of St. Mary-le-Bow is being restored and in time, cockney chil dren will again be bom “within the sound of Bow Bells.” However, it may be four years before the famous Christopher Wren church with its 12 bells will rise on its Cheapside site far from St. Paul’s Cathedral. It dates back to 1680. The word “cockney” is a colloq uial term applied to Londoners generally who can produce an ac cent all their own.
