Halfback Charley Hall still is in
jured, but Billy Pete Huddleston
probably will be in shape, said
Coach Ray George. Quarterback
Ronald Robbins, out with an in
fected foot, also may be ready.
The first and second teams
staged a 45 minute scrimmage
against the third team Wednesday.
Today the kickers will have a long
workout, with another squad work
out set for early Friday afternoon.
‘Terrific’ Georgia Passing
“Georgia is one of the best pass
ing teams in the country,” said
George. “They have a good ground
game, terrific passing and very
good ends.”
Figures support George’s state
ment.
Quarterback Zeke Bratkowski
led the nation in 1952 in yards
gained passing with 1,824. This is
also the Southeastern conference
record for .11 games.
Fullback Bob Clemens gives the
Bulldogs a fine running attack to
go with Bratkowski’s passing. He
picked up 203 yards on 31 carries
against Tulane and Villanova and
currently tops the Southeast con
ference. •
End John Carson is one of the
best pass receivers in the South.
He caught 32 for 467 yards in 1952
The only four-sport letterman in
the SEC, Carson is very fast but
played no defense. He lettered in
football, basketball, baseball and
golf last year.
The Bulldogs use a T-formation
offense with some split-T plays.
They send the fullback up the mid
dle frequently on a draw play, and
also fake handoffs to the fullbgck
and send a halfback off tackle.

Extraordinary Meats at Ordinary Prices
Sure, we are proud of our meat department. Recently, a customer brought almost literally a basket of meat pack
ages to the checkout counter. Her remarks are worth quoting: “I’m not sure it is the quality of your meats or the
personality of your butchers.” Another “Quotable Quote”: “Of all the markets in this area, I find both my favorite
butchers behind the same counter.”
