Vinson and a secretary of labor to repla'ce Martin P. Durkin. White House Press Secretary James C. Hagetry told newsmen he had no idea when either selec tion might be announced, but he said the President was hard at work on both assignments. Eisenhower arranged to confer at his vacation headquarters here with Vice President Nixon, who flew back to Denver with the chief executive last night from Washing ton, where they attended funeral services for Vinson. Nixon and Eisenhower, together with a group of presidential aides, reportedly discussed both the court and labor posts in Washington and it appeared likely they would con tinue the discussion today. There were indications, too, that Len W. Hall, chairman of the Re publican National Committee, had joined in the talk of a successor to Durkin. - Battalion Classifieds - BUY, SFJLU, RENT OR TRADE. Of course we need the training that sharpens our wits and develops our skills. But real educa tion must go deeper than that! Somehow, somewhere, we must find direction to life, so that wit and skills will be employed not only for self but for the common good. For some fortunate persons this emphasis- is made in the home.' Where this takes place, under Christian guidance, there is a last ing quality to the training that time can seldom efface. Sometimes the college or university offers this valued guidance and the student, as he sits before a Christian profes sor, learns more than books and les sons. He catches here some of the deeper overtones of life's true meaning. In a special way this extremely important instruction is imparted by the Christian Church, the mother of education. Through worship, study, fellowship, activity, we learn that noble purposes are infinitely su perior to mere things, and through fellowship with God we are made strong for every test that life can throw against us.
