Williams Wins Top
Place in Art Show
Tom Williams, junior architec
ture major, won first place in the
student, faculty and staff division
of the Spring Semester Student
Art Show.
Marie Alexander took top honors
in the associate members division.
Williams’ winning painting was
titled “Monterrey, Mexico,” Marie
Alexander won with her painting
of “Bromelia.”
Perry Nichols, prominent Dallas
artist, selected the two winners
from 135 paintings and drawings
entered in the exhibit.
Art Display
The art display opened yester
day in the MSC Serpentine Lounge.
Sponsored by the MSC Art Gal
lery Committee, the display is
divided into seven classifications.
These are still life, landscape,
black and whites, contemporary,
vegetable and fruit still life, floral
still life, and landscape with build
ings.
Contributors to the exhibit were
divided into regular members (stu
dents, faculty, and college staff)
and associate members. Winners
were picked in each individual
classification.
Regular member winners who
entered pictures in the still life
classification are as follows: first
place, Dell Bauer, “Pine Needles;”
second place, C. B. Campbell,
“Thistles,” first spectial mention,
Ann Hilliard, “Magnolia Leaves;”
and second special memtion, C. B.
Campbell, “On with the Paint Let
Brush Be Unconfined.”
First Place
Winners in the landscape classi
fication are first place, Tom Wil
liams, “Monterrey, Mexico;” se
cond place, Frances Schmidt,
“Cows Skill;” first special mention,
Charlie Brown, “Harvestivy;” and
second special mention, Dell
Bauer, “The Lost Babies.”
Black and white classification
winners are as follows: first place,
Fern Kennedy, “Jug, Bottle, and
Bowl;” and second place, Betty
Curl, “Coffee Jug.”

winners .in the associate member

Munnerlyn sent him sailing home
with a sharp single to right.
